The Westhall Racehorse

Come to the Racehorse at Westhall and let your hosts, Jerry and Bella Aldred welcome you to their relaxing and traditional Suffolk Inn.

The Racehorse Inn has long been a focus of village life, as well as providing visitors with a traditional and pleasant setting for an wonderful meal and a glass of real ale. Inside, open beams, an open fire and darkwood furniture provide a country theme throughout. The Bar is the setting for lively conversation, whilst the beautifully presented Restaurant provides a calm relaxing environment to enjoy good food and wine.

The Inn complies fully with all Disabled access requirements. Children are welcome in the Restaurant Area. A lovely secluded Beer Garden at the rear of the Inn is available to enjoy Alfresco dining and drinking. In addition the Inn is dog-friendly. Truffle, the resident Black Labrador welcomes well-behaved canine visitors.

Bella and Jerry ensure that no one visiting the Racehorse leaves hungry or thirsty. A large variety of beers, cyders and real ales are available. These include Adnams and Tindalls Ale, both brewed locally, as well as Aspalls Suffolk Cyder. All the homemade food is made by Jerry from local produce wherever possible. Bella makes sumptuous desserts to complete the gastronomic experience.

Live music is regularly found in the Bar , and a separate Pool and Dart room are available for all to enjoy.

Occasional Karaoke evenings are very popular both with locals and visitors alike.

Local groups, such as the Kloggies Dutch Conversation Club, often use the Racehorse for informal meetings.

Westhall is located 3 miles from Halesworth, in the centre of the triangle formed by Bungay, Beccles and Halesworth. It is close to the Heritage Coast, Southwold, and the RSPB Reserve at Minsmere. An extensive network of walks are to be found in this area, and the Inn can provide a welcome break on the routes.
